"San Jose Prepared" is a function separate from the City of San Jose RACES program, and is the community outreach program created by our City's Office of Emergency Services. San
Jose Prepared is a structured program for the residents of
Members of the San Jose Prepared program, and residents of San Jose who are also licensed amateur radio operators are encouraged to join the RACES program.
RACES, sponsored by our City's Office of Emergency Services, and FEMA, provides additional communications channels to the City organization in times of declared emergency. Communications support for public services events of a non-emergency nature are provided by our amateur radio operators in their role as ARES members.
