Pat, thought you might be interested in this installation:
Feel free to post on your website for non-commercial purposes. I would like
to
retain whatever commercial rights might exist for this design as RF engineering
is my profession.

The antenna is a vertical loop made of 2" steel pipe, arc welded
together.
It is shorted to the Suburban at the front and is insulated in the rear
where it is fed with an SGC 230. So far it appears to load on 80M and up.
A somewhat taller loop made from 1" copper would load on 160 phone, but
was not structurally sound.
I worked the Virginia QSO party, mobile, with the copper loop with good
success. My signal was very strong on the lower bands and I had a couple of 160
Meter contacts as well as remote contacts on 20 and 10M.
Performance throughout Virginia is also good on the USAF MARS 4 and 7 MHz
frequencies.
